Orthognathic Jaw Surgery

Orthognathic jaw surgery, also known as corrective jaw surgery, is an adjunct to orthodontic treatment that can help reshape the jaw and jaw position to help improve their form and function.

Some people are born with poorly aligned jaws. Others develop problems as the bones grow or as a result of an injury. Orthognathic surgery realigns facial bones, making the jaws work together better. Surgery is only one part of the treatment process. In most cases, treatment to move and straighten the teeth (orthodontics) is needed before and after surgery. This combination of treatment (surgical and braces) can relieve the problems caused by teeth and jaws that are out of alignment.

At the initial exam, our doctors can determine each individual’s needs. Please call our East Bradenton, Wesley Chapel and both our North and South Tampa locations today to schedule an appointment to discuss your individual concerns and interests! We promise you will learn a lot!
