The experience of our amazing orthodontists (Dr. Feldman, Dr. Cetta, Dr. Navarro), enables us to offer Invisalign First clear aligner treatment for kids. Children can enjoy the same high-quality orthodontic treatment as teens and adults!
Invisalign First is often used during early orthodontic treatment to meet the unique needs of growing mouths, and guide young patients through their developmental smile milestones.
Growing mouths require gentle care! Customized to fit your child’s mixed detention of baby teeth and adult teeth, Invisalign First clear aligners are ideal for supporting little smiles and creating a healthy foundation for permanent teeth to develop in alignment.
Invisalign First clear aligners are comfortable, clear, hygienic, and removable.
These aligners don’t use metal brackets or wires, so your child won’t have food particles stuck in their braces after eating. This increasingly hygienic quality helps to minimize the possibility of gum disease and cavities developing. Clear aligners can be removed when kids are eating, brushing their teeth, and flossing their teeth.
Invisalign is also less disruptive to children’s lifestyles than traditional treatments are. Young patients can still do their favorite things—play sports, play an instrument, or perform on stage. Whatever your child’s favorite hobby may be, clear aligners won’t limit their fun!
These specialized clear aligners are designed to develop a healthy dental arch for young patients, by creating the necessary space for permanent teeth to erupt in alignment.
Creating a healthy dental arch may require expansion of the upper jaw to treat teeth spacing or impending crowding.
There is no specific age requirement for Invisalign First, because every child grows at his or her own rate.
Although, young patients do need to meet a few developmental milestones before beginning treatment. The permanent first molars must have already erupted, and two or more incisors (permanent or primary) must be two-thirds of the way erupted or more. To be eligible for treatment, young patients also need at least two primary (C or D or E), or unerupted permanent teeth per quadrant in at least three quadrants.
If you aren’t quite sure whether Invisalign First is right for your child, the best way to find out is by bringing your child in for his or her first orthodontic exam with us!
