Patient Spotlight: Bob Schofner

Photo Source: NLHBob Schofner, our patient and friend never ceases to impress us with his remarkable updates. We’re proud to announce that Bob was recently recognized by the American Cleft Palate Association (ACPA) as their 2018 College Scholarship Winner!

Bob was featured in two of our Blue Wave Orthodontics blogs in recent years. In 2015 he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest advancement in Boy Scouting. The following year, the Tampa Bay Lightning honored him as the 13th Lightning Community Hero of the 2016-17 season (photo above).

Bob will be using his Scholarship this fall at Princeton University, where he is going to study Molecular Biology.

Dr. Randy Feldman holds Bob in the highest regard and shared, “For those of you that don’t know our history with Bob Schofner, Dr. Ernesto Ruas and I have seen him as a patient since birth and recently completed his orthognathic surgery, soft tissue revision surgery, and definitive restorative care. Bob always finds opportunities to volunteer and give back to his community, to support others, and to share his smile. When he was recognized as Lightning Community Hero of Tomorrow, I loaned him my Lightning tie; but the achievement and reasons for recognition were 100% Bob! He’s our hero too and we can’t wait to see what he does next. Where will his university degree take him? To the top, and most-likely to more opportunities to serve others.”

Way to go Bob! Keep sharing your updates, we are happy to include them as inspirations of your positivity, energy, and willingness to always go the extra mile!
