Facts About Invisible Braces

The Invisalign treatment system consists of a series of progressively changing transparent plastic aligners that are usually each worn for two weeks. These individually manufactured aligners are precisely engineered and fabricated with exact calculations to shift your teeth into their ideal position, giving you a straighter, more functional, healthier and beautiful smile.

You simply have to wear them 24/7, except when you eat and brush your teeth and you will get a fantastic result.  In our state of the moment high tech Orthodontic practice, here at Blue Wave Orthodontics, we have been original shareholders, investors and advisors for this amazing corporation, Align since inception. As such, we have modified and changed some procedures secondary to our combined experience of ALREADY treating over 5,000 patients with clear aligner therapy (Invisalign/ALGN). For example, 100% of our patients ONLY wear each aligner ONLY one week (not 2) thereby speeding up treatment times AND decreasing force values which makes movement much more efficient, WAY less discomfort  and FASTER!  Average 12-14 months total! We will go over some of the facts, and give you opportunity to review additional blogs and pages on our website for more detail. However, the REAL opportunity, is to make a “NEW PATIENT EXAM” appointment today and get in and see one of our insightful experts on the use of Invisalign Orthodontic FOR YOU and see how “quick and easy” you TOO can have that “HOLLYWOOD SMILE”! (:))

Invisalign Facts

You should get your Invisalign from an orthodontist, not a dentist, or online.
All orthodontists are dentists, but only 6 percent of dentists are orthodontists. An orthodontist continues with their education and completes at least two more years of both academic and clinical study in orthodontics and growth & development of children and young adults. During treatment, you need to continue to see your regular dentist for check ups, cleanings, and any necessary restorative dental work, but leave the smile making to your orthodontist. Invisible Braces work with Teens and Adults
Invisalign Teen treatment is appropriate for patients who have shed all their baby teeth and have second molars at least partially erupted – includes most teens from 12-15 years of age. Orthodontic treatment is becoming more and more popular with adults too. Four of the main reasons why both seek treatment are confidence, dental health, overall health, and Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Adults and teens often choose Invisalign as it is nearly invisible and can be seen as a mature solution to metal braces, which are oftentimes the only option for children. Check out our infographic with Invisalign Teen facts and blog about the pros of Invisalign for adults.
Invisible Braces are Easy to Travel With
Last summer we added a blog about traveling with Invisalign. The rules of wearing them, changing them, and tooth care don’t change, but you have to plan ahead. As there are less office visits required, there are less restrictions to staying in-town with Invisalign. Bon voyage!
The Pricing Is Usually The Same As Traditional Braces
Invisalign is very affordable, with a cost similar to that of traditional braces…at least in our practice! YEAH! (:)) We are in the Top 1% of Invisalign providers worldwide and receive much lower laboratory fabrication costs from Align Technology which is a savings we pass on to our patients in our lower treatment fees. If your dental plan covers orthodontic treatment, you may also qualify for coverage for Invisalign treatment. Review your plan and talk to your insurance provider to determine the extent of coverage for your treatment. Our in-house insurance coordinator can also answer many of your insurance questions, and is happy to help! Learn more about costs.
Invisalign Process Happens More Quickly Than You Think
In many cases, Invisalign takes less time than traditional braces and has an average treatment time of about 12-14 months. As your trays and plans are developed uniquely for you, you will know the exact date that your treatment plan is set to complete.
We want to ALSO add that, you can now get the smile of your dreams in half the time! Blue Wave Orthodontics has researched and has added an acceleration modality to enhance treatment times. The BioLux Research OrthoPulse PBM (photobiomodulation) device is worn by patients for 15 minutes a day during their traditional braces or Invisalign, and gently via light waves accelerates tooth movement into alignment over time. The subtle micro-light waves stimulate blood flow to the gums and speeds up the bone remodeling process. In our Blue Wave Orthodontic locations, we do provide the opportunity to explore these accelerated option as well. It basically cuts the time in half!
