The Children’s Cancer Center’s mission is to help children and their families by providing the educational, financial, and emotional relief necessary to cope with the illnesses which threaten to tear their lives apart. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to serving Tampa Bay area families of children with cancer or chronic blood disorders such as Sickle Cell Anemia.
Children’s Cancer Center was founded in 1974. Mac and Cecile Burnett, who lost their daughter Helen to leukemia, and Dr. Janifer M. Judisch envisioned an organization that would help alleviate the stress of coping with a child’s life-threatening disease.
The philosophy of the original founders was that when a child is diagnosed, the entire family is really diagnosed. Therefore, their programs and services address the needs of all family members affected.
The Children’s Cancer Center is one of three charities in the Tampa Bay area in Feldman Orthodontics’ Big Give program. Dr. Feldman asks patients to choose one of these charities to which we will donate a portion of treatment costs on their behalf. At the end of each year, Dr. Feldman will personally provide a matching donation to the organization that has the highest level of patient support. These charities provide important resources and services for our neighbors in need, and we are proud to partner with them in achieving their goals.
