Align Technology, the company that created Invisalign and Invisalign Teen announced in late May that 1 million teenage patients have started treatment with Invisalign® clear aligners, the most advanced clear aligner system in the world.
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign Teen aligners are clear, comfortable, and removable. Because these aligners can be removed, they allow teens to continue their normal brushing and flossing regimen. The aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable plastic, and have no wires to break or create discomfort.
Align stated in their press release, “As we celebrate this milestone, we are also reaffirming our commitment to helping provide treatment to children around the world born with cleft lip and cleft palate. Align Technology will donate $1 to Operation Smile for every public shared or posted photo of a person’s smile on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #1millionteensmiles or #4millionsmiles — for a total donation of up to $1 million*.”
Blue Wave Orthodontics contributed to the success of Invisalign by creating over 4,500 smiles (Adult and Teen) to become part of the top 1% of the providers in the world.
