Each year Dr. Randy Feldman, of Feldman Orthodontics, awards an outstanding graduating senior, or two in this case, with a $1,000 scholarship to the college of their choice. An essay competition is held for graduating seniors and a winner selected for their response to the question, “What a smile means to me!” Additional scholarship criteria are the winners must have maintained a cumulative start grade point average of 3.0 or better, have achieved a minimum SAT score of 1000 or minimum ACT score of 22, must have submitted a letter of recommendation from their school, and have a letter of acceptance from a college of their choice. This year’s winning essays of the $1000 scholarship was awarded to two outstanding seniors: Ka’Oni Toussaint, a graduating senior from Hillsborough High School, and Lisa Ryzhikov, a graduating senior from Sickles High School. To celebrate their achievements, Dr. Feldman and his staff treated the winners and their parents to an awards dinner at the Feldman Orthodontics North Tampa Office; which was held on Thursday, May 15, 2015. In order to keep the ambition alive, he also presented each winner with a copy of the book, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” by Dr. Seuss.
